Board of Directors - Election Process

The election process for new members to the WAIMH Board of Directors usually takes around 3-4 months. The next election (in 2024) will be for the 2024-2028 term. Below you can find the election process as a reference on the process.

Election for the term 2024-2028

Thank you very much to WAIMH members who voted in the election. The new WAIMH Board members for the years 2024-2028 are David Oppenheim and Julie Ribaudo.

We would also very much like to thank the other candidates for agreeing to be nominated, and for their enthusiastic and important contributions to the activities of WAIMH. The other candidates were: Nicole Letourneau and Robert Meeder.

Altogether 1120 WAIMH members (2023 or 2024) were eligible to vote in the election taking place 5th February – 3rd March 2024 (EET). A member could vote for one candidate. A total of 220 members cast their vote. The voter turnout was at 20%. All the 71 persons who paid their membership fee during the month of election were given the possibility to cast their votes as well. E-mails with links were posted on a weekly basis.

Election for the term 2020-2024

We wish to thank you for taking part in voting a WAIMH Board member for the term 2020-2024. We want specially to thank the seven candidates: Sherri Alderman, Catherine Maguire, Giampaolo Nicolais, Nichole Paradis, Clara Schejtman, Jody Todd Manly and Hisako Watanabe, for their dedication to promote infant mental health globally.

Altogether 788 WAIMH members (2019 or 2020) were eligible to vote in the election taking place 20th January – 21st February 2020 (EET). A member could vote for one candidate. A total of 247 members cast their vote. The voter turnout was at 31%. All the 94 persons who paid their membership fee during the month of election were given the possibility to cast their vote. E-mails with links were posted on a weekly basis, the latest being sent four hours prior to the deadline. The new WAIMH Board members for the years 2020-2024 were Hisako Watanabe and Catherine Maguire.

What are the tasks of the WAIMH Board?

The Board of Directors manages the business of the association and exercises all corporate powers.
