Bid for Congress

Call for bids for the WAIMH World Congress

The World Association for Infant Mental Health (WAIMH) organises world congresses biannually. The Board of Directors starts the process of choosing the location of a new world congress at least four years before the actual date of the congress.

In 2020 the WAIMH World Congress in Brisbane, Australia was postponed to the year 2021. The selection of the location for the congress of 2022 has already been decided and will be announced in WAIMH Brisbane Congress. The process for the 2024 Congress has already started.

What the Board of Directors expects from a bid

Presentation of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) that is organised in cooperation with a WAIMH Affiliate Association active in the country or area where the Congress is planned to take place. Please note that the chairperson of the LOC has to be a member of the WAIMH Affiliate Association and of the WAIMH.
  2. Presentation of the venue of the Congress and its surroundings.
  3. Presentation of the Professional Congress organizer and its key persons responsible for organising the Congress.
  4. Preliminary budget for the Congress, including proposal for the registration fees, calculations of how many delegates would be needed to cover the costs of the Congress, and Professional Congress Organiser fees. Information on plans for social programs and pre- and post-congress tours.
